As a mobile bar, we do everything we can to minimise our carbon footprint.
We have put together a list of 5 things for you to consider ensuring your Wedding Day has as little impact on the environment as possible.
1. The Venue
One sure fire way of ensuring minimal impact, is to opt for a venue that doesn't even have a building!
Many popular venues are a blank field, which allows couples to hand select their perfect suppliers.
Prefer a fixed roof over your head? No problem, why not research eco-friendly venues close to you and what it is they have to offer.
We would personally recommend The Owl Barn at Little Seed Field.
2. Avoid single use plastic
As a mobile bar we go through a lot of glassware. Depending on the venue, real glass may not always be an option. For example if at a Tipi wedding set on grazing land. Broken glass would pose a great danger to animals after the big day.
On our horsebox bar and the Tobias bar, we use a variety of alternatives, one of our favourites and most used is plant based cups. These are made from plant oils that are sustainable and compostable.
3. Think Local
It may seem obvious but use suppliers local to you and your wedding venue. But opting for suppliers that are close by, means less miles are covered and reduces carbon emissions.
This also helps support the local community.
4. The Dress
There are so many ways of bagging yourself a sustainable wedding dress.
Rather than ordering a brand-new dress, which can also carry a hefty price tag. Why not look for a preloved wedding dress?
Bridal Reloved have boutiques up and down the country, dedicated to preloved wedding gowns. Search for your local boutique here.
5. Invites
Get creative with your wedding invites and save the dates.
This could be by using recycled or natural materials, or you might scrap the idea of a physical invite altogether.
Evites and a wedding website are becoming increasingly popular. A website is a great way to keep your guests updated, and even means that you can amend or add details at a later date.
